The name “Gunpowder” was given to this speciality tea because of the shape of its rolled leaves which have the form of balls.

This loose leaf green tea is probably the most popular green tea from Zheijang, south of Shanghai. Once the rolled tea leaves are brewed, they begin to crackle. The tea is very original in taste, with a very strong and tangy aroma. If you find this tea is too strong on the first brew then do a second one and it will produce a more delicate brew.
