Description
Assam Dikom tea is a classic black tea from the Dikom tea plantation, located next to the river Sessa, a tributary of the Brahmaputra. Dikom is one of the oldest plantations in the region. Some of the tea trees on this plantation are estimated at 100-150 years old. Currently, the majority of the tea trees have been replaced by new plants. Exceptional attention to ecological fertilisation of the soil and the use of natural compost makes the tea bushes flower a few times a year with new young flashbulbs. The vast bio-diversity in Dikom provides plants with all the necessary minerals and nutrients. Another distinctive feature of the region is the chemical composition of surface waters which contain natural sweetness, resulting in a slightly malt brew accent.
